The Short Answer

Renovate the inside as one project, not one room at a time.

When the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas are planned together, the colours, finishes and joinery tie in from room to room, and walls can come out to open up the layout. Opening up closed-off rooms can make a home feel bigger without the need for an extension.

We handle the whole job, from reworking the layout to custom cabinetry, and bring in the electricians, plumbers, tilers and designers we've worked with for years.

Project · Balmoral

A Queenslander, renovated inside.

The inside of this Balmoral Queenslander was renovated in 2025: a new kitchen with a servery window out to the deck, new bathrooms, and renovated bedrooms, with the timber arches and floors carried through the house.

Planning it as one project means the kitchen, bathrooms and living spaces all feel like they belong together.

Trades & Design

We coordinate the trades, so you don't have to.

An internal renovation touches a lot of trades. Michael has a network of electricians, plumbers, cabinet makers and interior designers he's worked with for years, and manages them so the job runs in the right order.

We work with a team of designers and leading Brisbane cabinet makers, and closely with interior designer Stella Franks from Three Stems, who can help you choose colours and finishes that tie the whole home together.

★★★★★

"The second job was a much larger job, enclosing a deck and putting in bi-fold doors and sliding doors, as well as plastering a very difficult sloping area ... This job was also done on time and within budget."

Questions

Internal renovation questions, answered.

How much does a kitchen or bathroom renovation cost in Brisbane?
It depends on the size of the room, the layout changes and the finishes you choose. Bathrooms in particular are budget sensitive, so we work with you on a cost-effective way to get the result you want. Michael visits first, then you get a detailed quote before anything is signed.
Is it better to renovate one room or the whole inside at once?
If you're planning to do more than one room, doing them as one project means the colours, finishes and joinery tie in, and the trades only go through once. If one room is all you need, we're happy to do just that.
Can you remove walls to make an open-plan kitchen and living area?
Yes. Many older homes, Queenslanders included, have the kitchen, dining and living areas closed off from each other. Taking out walls to create one open space can make the home feel bigger without an extension. We check whether a wall is load bearing and handle the building work needed to remove it properly.
Do I need council approval for an internal renovation?
It depends on the work. Structural changes, like removing a load-bearing wall, can need building approval, while many kitchen and bathroom updates don't. We'll tell you what your job needs, and council submission and building approval are part of our process where they're required.
Do you do custom cabinetry and joinery?
Yes. We specialise in custom joinery and bespoke cabinetry, from kitchens and butler's pantries to laundries, walk-in robes and storage, built to fit the home rather than off-the-shelf boxes.
Do you organise the plumber, electrician and tilers?
Yes. Michael manages the trades for you. For one Coorparoo client he project managed a new shower and arranged the electrician, tilers and waterproofers for their part of the job.
Can you help with design and choosing finishes?
Yes. We work with a team of designers and Brisbane cabinet makers, and closely with interior designer Stella Franks from Three Stems, who can help you choose colours and finishes that tie in with the rest of your home.
Can you renovate for accessibility or NDIS needs?
Yes. We do disabled and elderly access modifications, such as adjusted heights, alternative handles and easier-to-use doors and drawers. We're not an NDIS registered builder, but we've completed many projects for NDIS clients.
How long does an internal renovation take?
It depends on how many rooms are involved and the work in each. A single bathroom is a much shorter job than a whole-of-home internal renovation. Your quote will set out the timing before work starts.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in Greenslopes and renovate homes across Brisbane, especially the southside, including Holland Park, Coorparoo, Camp Hill, Tarragindi, Yeronga, Annerley and Moorooka.
